Rising Toronto rapper offers ultimate tribute to selfless mom in touching “Super Big” video @leondromusic

Following Mother’s Day, rising Toronto rapper Leondro has set the bar high with “Super Big,” his touching new video that fondly recalls his hard-working and self-sacrificing mother. Featuring fellow Canadian rapperYoko Gold, “Super Big” reflects with appreciation and affection upon Leondro’s mother’s hardships as “she fought to keep her children's future bright.” Leondro premiered the “Super Big” audio at the Easter Seals Telethon in Toronto on April 10, helping raise $3.2 million for children who live with physical disabilities in Ontario. More information on Leondro is available on his official website.

While “Super Big” details Leondro’s difficulty growing up without a father, its main focus is on his good fortune in having a mother who shouldered the burden. As a single parent, Leondro’s mother fought to keep her children out of trouble while providing a roof over their heads and food on their plates. According to Leondro, the “Super Big” video perfectly captures the nostalgia he now feels as an adult: “All I want is for people to have a visual that captures what my life was like. It feels amazing to be able to show people who I am and where I come from.”

Leondro was born in Toronto in 1988. He was the youngest of three children raised in social housing in West End Toronto. His single mother worked three jobs to support her children. When Leondro was five years old, his mother gave him a life-altering gift that would spur his love for music: a Karaoke machine with a microphone.

?As a teen, Leondro bounced between thirteen different schools. He was constantly in trouble, hanging out on the streets with the wrong crowds. In the late 1990s, Leondro discovered Baby and Cash Money, with whom he immediately felt a connection. Before the age of twenty, Leondro found himself in legal trouble.

Leondro decided to make a difference in the world and not be the stereotypical “project” kid who ends up in jail. His mother meant too much to him, as evidenced by the ultimate tribute, his new video for “Super Big.”
